Does Slick Cactus have a mobile device app?

There are three basic types of mobile device apps and below is a brief explanation of each one.

- Native apps are created for one specific platform or operating system.
- Web apps are responsive versions of websites that can work on any mobile device or OS because they’re delivered using a mobile browser.
- Hybrid apps are combinations of both native and web apps, but wrapped within a native app, giving it the ability to have its own icon or be downloaded from an app store.

A Web app offers a user experience similar to native apps, but with the convenience of accessing it through a web browser on your mobile device. It provides users with full usability of the entire system, ensuring seamless functionality. Unlike standalone apps that require downloading and installing code on your device, Web apps are actually responsive websites that dynamically adjust their user interface based on the device being used. When you encounter the option to “install” a web app, it typically creates a bookmark for the website URL on your device, simplifying access in the future.

Here are some benefits of the web app that acts a mobile device app.

1. We can add an App logo to login to Slick Cactus
2. Doesn’t take up precious space in the device’s storage
3. Every time there’s an update to our platform, the user doesn’t have to download the updated app and reinstall it
4. When we update code or provide new features, we don’t have to duplicate efforts for each of the different Client accounts

Step-by-step: Add our web version as your mobile device app

1. Open a web browser on your phone
2. Type in the Slick Cactus URL we provide you with your logins in an email
3. Under your URL click icon that is a box with an arrow
4. Scroll down until you see an option – Add to HomeScreen
5. Click Add (top-right hand corner)
6. You will now see the Slick Cactus logo. Use your logins provided to access your account.
